To help students at all levels to learn the fascination of math and science, using my long-term experience in developing and teaching on-line computer applications to increase students' use of technology for classroom solutions. To use my commitment to inclusionary practices and experience with multiple teaching modes to ensure access to standard curriculum for all students. My commitment to inclusion also reflects an interest in the needs of special education students, with whom I have been privileged to work on several occasions.

I have worked in a number of teaching positions, both professionally and on a volunteer basis. My students have ranged in age from barely 6 to late 70s. I have worked in the following areas:
  • First grade classroom with primary responsibility for children with behavioral and learning issues.
  • Substitute of choice in middle and elementary schools, specializing in children with learning disabilities from mild to severe or behavioral issues.
  • Computer application use, multi-user system management, database design and management.
  • White-water kayaking and canoeing, sea kayaking, wilderness skills and safety/rescue techniques
  • Adventure and environmental education
  • Identified, recruited and trained volunteer white-water instructors. Served as key point-of-contact for participants. (AMC)
I have often found myself in leadership positions, designing and managing courses and services for customers ranging from ropes course for elementary school children to providing 24/7 technical support for police, fire and ems systems:
  • Designed, implemented, and managed technical support help desk for 50+ customer public service agencies. Spearheaded new technical support policy for all aspects of customers’ systems.
  • Designed, planned and led kayaking courses and trips for up to 60 participants throughout New England and in Canada.
  • Designed, built and taught ropes course and team-building activities for groups of elementary and middle school children.
Both in a leadership position and as a relatively independent subordinate, organizational skills have been an important part of my work.
Writing/Technical Design
Writing both for communication and for informational purposes is been a skill I have used extensively. Published works include material for both internal and external distribution and range from poetry to newspaper and magazine articles and technical manuals. As a programmer, I have designed and implemented web sites, user applications, databases and interfaces between systems, including E911, medevac and records management systems.
